Sleeves are back!

From some sneak peeks I’ve seen, sleeves are back in fashion for skaters!    This makes me personally very happy for several reasons, the primary one being the ability to have a lot more design room.  This doesn’t mean that we’re talking long sleeves to the wrist, but the idea that arms are an accessory and can have presentation impact makes sense from a choreographic point of view.

 

I know there are the skaters that love the little tank dresses, and don’t worry, those dresses will never be out of fashion but if you look at the most extreme end of the sleeve continuum, and for that I mean the arms of Evan Lysachek (complete with feather gloves), those arms made an impact!

 

Choreography is the whole body, you betcha his choreographer didn’t leave the arms to last!

 

The feathers though, eeemmmmm, I’ll get back to you about that.
