Catching up on some photos of work completed.
So when someone says they want a mushroom head and a Luigi, what do you think? Super Mario of course. Here was a last minute frenzy of creativity and I rocked it out of the park!!
Hats, overalls and green shirt all made for a special event. I would have made a red shirt too but the boy assured me he already had one.
Oh yes, I made the mustaches too!
The doorway to summer
Posted: May 22, 2011 | Author: crhewitt | Filed under: Occasional Updates | Comments OffPhotos fixed, thanks to the rain outside on a warm Victoria Day weekend.
What’s keeping me busy this week is Prom and Grad. Such beautiful dresses have gone through my hands, with a tuck here, and a hem there and making them fit perfectly. Call me, alteration rates start at $30.
Next, slipcover for a chair, coordinating throw pillows, a vintage style dress request and then back to Spandex. I like the summer for the variety but I do keep thinking of how to add rhinestones to things, all the time!
Hello Baton, and an update on the photos
Posted: May 16, 2011 | Author: crhewitt | Filed under: Baton, Occasional Updates | Comments OffI realize that my photos didn’t transfer over to the new hosting location. I’m working on that. I’ve been busy otherwise since I have been asked about getting involved in costumemaking for the sport of Baton. I attended a baton competition over the weekend to see what is required and I exclaimed “it’s like figure skating with 10,000 more rhinestones!” For those of you who know me by my other moniker “Glitter Ho” this is right up my alley. Wow! I am going to work on some items on spec, both skirted, small skirt and traditional leotard and have them posted to view.
I also like what one coach told me, that costumes should be respectful to the judges. I think I’m going to take some of Baton over to Figure Skating.
As always, I’m available for costumes for those who are hard to fit. Fabrics can be ordered from many sources or if time is short, I have a small but glittery and pretty selection on hand.
